this is a good phone, but it does have some technical issues. one of them is that it is very hard to "add airtime" you must go through a lot. It is a very good phone but I think that it could use some fixing up. (Adding your airtime doesn' always work)

Own this phone for a few months now and can only say that I am very happy with it. Adding airtime goes fast and easy and no problems at all. Used an apple iPhone for two years and will never go back to it.

Starting a few days ago when I try to make a call, an "Emergency Calls Only" box appears. I also notice that to the right of the signal strength bars there is a phone icon with a red line through it. Online manual says this indicates "out of service area". But I used this phone for a couple of weeks from my area when I first got it. So location-wise nothing has changed. It seems like around the time I signed on for a monthly plan that this problem started. Any thoughs?

An "Emergency Calls Only" window pops up now whenever I try to make a call. I'm using the phone in the same area that I've always used it before. Did I inadvertently change a setting to cause this?

The address for my manufacturer's manual, doesn't work. This phone looks great, if a manufacturer'smanual came with it. Why don't I have one. I bought the phone?

Despite the lack of a decent manual coming with the phone, I love mine. I've had it six months now and it's great. The only thing I hate is the web browser, which often doesn't work correctly... but that's okay, I don't use that part much!

Got this phone for my elderly father. He keeps starting the browser unintentionally. Is there a way to remove this from the menu or otherwise lock it so he doesn't use up his minutes. Thank you for your assistance.

Trainer, I complained about this EXACT problem with the browser to Tracfone. They told me there was no way to turn it off. Eventually as I became more familiar with the phone I learned to avoid the button... sorry I do not have a more helpful answer for you. :-(

Vashti - It does help to know I have not overlooked something obvious! Wish someone make a good, inexpensive cell phone for elderly individuals. The Jitterbug phone is great - my mother-in-law loves the one we got her - but it rather expensive as far as monthly charges.

The browser worked at one time. Whenever I select "Browser" I get "Error: Network Unavailable How do I get it to work again.

I cannot get the Samsung T301g speakerphone to work. I do not want to use the earpiece; just hold in my hand but not up to my ear. I believe that I have the volume turned up to the highest point (#7). The screen shows 'spkr on' but it is not & I have to hold it to my ear. Help please.
