Can I upgrade my Tracfone and transfer my phone number and unused units from the old phone?

Big Red said...

my friend and I have been Tracfone customers for around 5 years now.
We ran to the neighbors house yesterday because a kitten had fallen into a well and lost the cell phone in the well. Purchased a new one and after 1.5 hours on the phone transferring info and minutes, we were told we would not still have double minutes, which was purchased 2 years ago. We could not believe this. I cannot believe Tracfone treats loyal customers this way. I will be getting the word out everywhere I can about this. I have since cancelled my family plan and will be looking for a new phone service. In this tough economy, Tracfone really doesn't care about losing customers. There are plenty of phone services out there who would appreciate our loyal service.

Hi Big Red!

Your deed is commendable and we applaud your actions. We love kittens, too.

Double Minutes for Life, though, is for the life of a specific phone.

We do care about our customers, Big Red, and we're sorry that this is an issue.

A new phone, which includes Double Minutes For Life, is not very expensive. If you're pleased with TracFone's service and coverage, you may want to consider it.

For example, here's one for $29.99 that includes FREE shipping: http://tracfoneblog.blogspot.com/search/label/Motorola%20W376g

Thanks!

Customer for many years, everytime I purchase a new tracfone and keep same number it takes couple days to get your service and minutes off last phone. Try calling customer service, tech support or anyone on the menu.....same thing, we only work daytime business hours. Why can't tracfone show a little compassion to its loyal customers.
Being without a phone can hurt business eventhough you have paid for phone and minutes.

When upgrading to a new Tracfone, can you transfer the pictures you've taken with your old phone - or do you have to email the pictures?

My family and I have used Tracfone for years and so far so good.. until my Motorola phone decided to go all white screen on me!! I have over 400 minutes on the phone but can't get into the phone to do anything. It works but the display is just white. I got a new phone for Christmas. Should I have any trouble calling CS and having them look up my minutes to transfer them to the new phone?

TRACFONE said...

Sorry to hear about your problems.

If you haven't been able to resolve them through normal customer service, please send e-mail to SuperCSR Elston: ELombillo@tracfone.com for assistance.

How do I purchase a new battery for my daughter's motorola tracfone? I called tracfone and they said at any retailer but I bought it at Wal-Mart and they don't sell tracfone batteries.
i can't find it for sale on your website either.

TRACFONE said...

@Vangie What model do you have? You can do a Google search with the model number. Batteries are available from a variety of vendors.

Vangie said...

My phone that's missing the battery we think is a Motorola W376g.

TRACFONE said...

@Vangie If it's less than a year old, it's still under warranty. You can call customer service for assistance.

If not, as we said earlier, you can do a Google search with the model number. Batteries are available from a variety of vendors.

My husband and I both have double minute phones from Tracfone. We were thinking about signing up for the family value plan. Would our minutes from that also double?

adam said...

Just purchased a new Samsung T130G phone. The package says that this phone includes unlimited double minutes. There was not a card for this in the package. Do I need one or is it automatic after activating the phone?

Postmaster said...

Hi Ann: All minutes that you purchase are doubled. Thanks!

Postmaster said...

Hi Adam:It's automatic upon activation. Enjoy!

I bought my husband a new tracfone and activated it for him. When he set up the voicemail , he doesnt' remember being asked to choose a password. When he tried to retrieve his voicemail he was asked for a password. What should he do?

Postmaster said...

Hi Nelly: Try the last 4 digits of his phone number. That should work, but if it doesn't, please call Customer Service: 1-800-867-7183. Thanks!

Ben said...

My older tracfone is completely dead and I would like to transfer only the minutes to the newer phone I have. I called customer service and have waited for around 30 minutes being told of only a 10 minute wait time. Is there any way of transferring the minutes without wasting the ones I use waiting for the customer service to pick up?

Postmaster said...

Hi Ben: Two choices: you can call from a landline or post your issue on the TracFone Support Forum: http://www.tracfoneforum.com. Hope that helps!

Ben said...

The forum led me straight back to the CS number and the landline is used for a relatives work purposes. Is there not an e-mail address I can reach to help with this problem?

Postmaster said...

Hi Ben: Please tell them that and ask them to contact you by email in a private message.

Hi Fazon: The Double Minutes feature must be enabled before the minutes you purchase are added and doubled. Hope that answers your question. Thanks.
