I got my grandpa an SVC and he really does think it is the best cell phone he has used thus far. The big screen and buttons helps him easily use the phone and it gives us the peace of mind that should he need to contact us for any reason while he is out, he can!

That's so nice to hear - I would love my grandparents to have a cell phone because they just rely on their landline as it the most cost effective when they hardly even use half of what they end up paying for on a cell phone contract. having a cell phone has become such a necessity in this day and age even for safety reasons and i would feel a lot better if my grandparents always had a phone with them. definitely goign to get them to check out the SVC phone - at under $20 it is a real steal and no contract from then on means they can spend as much as you need and no more!

My grandfather just picked up one of these as well. It is very relieving to know that your elderly family members aren't tied to their landlines, which sometimes they don't hear and sometimes cannot reach in time. Plus, if he's out on the golf course, I don't have to worry about him.

I am looking for a cell phone for my grandmother. What do you all think of the SVC? I think it has great features but the whole $7 for a month worth of service sounds too good to be true!

It's a great value for your grandma. I presume that she's not loaded (LOL!) and has to watch her bucks. this is a very good choice. The value cannot be beat!
